We are very excited to let you know that only three weeks after our official launch we have already been acknowledged, recognised and nominated for our first Environment Award! Last week our founder Mark Winter was interviewed by channel Ten around what the campaign and labelling initiative means for the environment for the Channel Ten/ Telstra Environment Award.

"Helping computers save money and the environment", was the introduction to the story by channel Ten's Amanda Fitzgerald that aired in Queensland on Tuesday. Referring to the YouTube mocumentaries, Amanda said "Humour and nudity goes a long way to selling the idea of workplace computer practices",  with them playing a small part of our "Naked Tuesday" mocumentary.

These online videos have already had over 2,000 views on YouTube and 1,400 on metacafe in only 3 weeks and if you you haven't already seen them we encourage you to watch them and then pass them onto your friends.

"Being nominated for this award is a great honour and gives the campaign and labelling initiative the exposure it deserves", said Mark Winter, founder of  Computers Off Australia. "With $1.3 billion and 6 million tons of CO2 emissions per annum being saved by turning off our PC's when not in use, we all should be doing this NOW!" "There is never a better time to start saving money and the environment", Mark said.

We would like to thank Telstra and channel Ten for these awards and for recognising us with this nomination. You can watch the full interview online here.

Mark is also the special guest speaker at this years, Western Digital, Gigabyte & Intel "Quest for Green Computing Dealer Event" tomorrow night in Sydney and if you would like to attend, you can register online at: http://www.gapmarketing.com.au/greenpc.php
