Computers Off Australia campaign poised to shutdown

"Remember Earth Hour?  Back in March this year when we switched off all our lights and electrical equipment at home, except the fridge, oh and the Plasma TV because the football was on.  Well a new campaign to return some power to the grid is ready to launch.  Computers Off Australia wants us to lift our fingers a little at home time.

Hands up those that at least switch their monitors off before heading home from a desk bound career?  Keep your hand up if you could and do power down your PC to [at least] Stand By at the same time.

Hmmmm not many hands up.  According to a Gartner Report the global Information and Communications Technology industry (ICT) accounts for approximately 2% of global carbon dioxide emissions, which is equivalent to the emissions of the aviation industry!...."
